How are you doing? I hope amazing- I hope so far- 2023 has been your best year to date- in all areas of life.


Before we dive into our lessons- I want to remind you of something I remind myself & clients of every single week.


You’re never going to be perfect- at anything- especially at the beginning- because you simply don’t know what you’re doing- & that’s okay. You try- make mistakes- adapt- learn- & become better. 


I'm not just referring to your health journey- rather all the small journeys you take throughout life. 

 

Learning to drive-

Starting to date-

Being a college student-

Landing your first job-

Buying your first house-

Getting married-

Having kids- 

Raising kids-

Retirement- 

Being a grandparent-


All these require growth- 

All these require patience-

All these require new knowledge-


Nobody ever gets it right the first time- because none of us have ever taken this journey before. So how can we expect ourselves to be perfect- at anything?


You didn't beat yourself up after your first fender binder. You paused- took time to reflect- then created boundaries to ensure you didn't put yourself in the same situation again. 


Do the same exact thing with your fitness journey.


When you “fall off” your diet- pause- reflect- & create boundaries to make sure you either- are not in the same position moving forward- which completely eliminates temptation.


OR you have a better plan going into the same situation moving forward- which allows you more self control when surrounded by temptation.


Remember- your present & future actions are always in YOUR control- so take control of them.

This month- I want to shed light on common nutrition myths. These myths cause tremendous anxiety when it comes to meal planning- which increase the time it takes to see results. 


Focus on clearing all the chaos in your mind with these truths. This will simplify meal planning- which simplifies meal prepping- simplifying execution- & simplifying progress.

I have zero clients interested in "body building" or competing- yet that does not change anything when it comes to programming- exercise or nutrition.

When your focus changes from weighing as little as possible- to simply getting stronger- all areas of life become simpler- & your physical body (weight loss)- will change with ease.

BUILDING SHAPE


Below is your forth strength training block- for both home & gym. If you didn't get the first three- NBD- you can start right now with this one!


Here's a quick summary on how to efficiently use training blocks.

As always- my YouTube channel is linked at the bottom of each training block- where you'll find over 500 different exercises- categorized by muscle groups. As well as full-at-home workouts you can easily follow along with- any where life takes you!

“Not having time”- to do X. 


X can be exercise, cardio, meal plan, meal prep- read, visit family, increase business. If you catch yourself saying- “I don’t have time to do X”- ask yourself- “Is X important to me?”


☝🏼If your answer is no- stop expecting yourself to do it. This saves a ton of time & energy. 

☝🏼If your answer is yes- X is important to me- then you have one option- find time to do it.


Then your expectations match your willingness to achieve whatever is important to you.


Remember- time is time- “finding” time just means- better managing the time you have. The first step to better manage your time is figure out where your time is currently going. You can do this by using my Daily Time Log.

After completing this exercise- you’ll have a better idea of "where" your time is going each day- which gives you the ability to change & control your time & energy moving forward- to make sure both keep you moving forward every day.

FOR THE RECORD: I've been working on time managing for years- with every new season of life- better time management is required.


I started thinking about time differently a few years ago- starting my day at 6 pm & ending at 5:59 pm the following day. 


This helps me keep a huge emphasis on my night time routine- sleep & breakfast- which guarantees me the proper fuel & rest leading into my morning training session & client check in.


Rather- placing a huge emphasis on my morning routine- breakfast- training session & client check ins- after a possible short &/or bad nights sleep. 


Think of it like reverse engineering your entire day- based on energy needed.
