How are you doing? I hope amazing- I hope so far- 2023 has been your best year to date- in all areas of life.
Before we dive into our lessons- I want to remind you of something I remind myself & clients of every single week.
You’re never going to be perfect- at anything- especially at the beginning- because you simply don’t know what you’re doing- & that’s okay. You try- make mistakes- adapt- learn- & become better.
I'm not just referring to your health journey- rather all the small journeys you take throughout life.
Learning to drive-
Starting to date-
Being a college student-
Landing your first job-
Buying your first house-
Getting married-
Having kids-
Raising kids-
Retirement-
Being a grandparent-
All these require growth-
All these require patience-
All these require new knowledge-
Nobody ever gets it right the first time- because none of us have ever taken this journey before. So how can we expect ourselves to be perfect- at anything?
You didn't beat yourself up after your first fender binder. You paused- took time to reflect- then created boundaries to ensure you didn't put yourself in the same situation again.
Do the same exact thing with your fitness journey.
When you “fall off” your diet- pause- reflect- & create boundaries to make sure you either- are not in the same position moving forward- which completely eliminates temptation.
OR you have a better plan going into the same situation moving forward- which allows you more self control when surrounded by temptation.
Remember- your present & future actions are always in YOUR control- so take control of them.
