I shared this message in the Saving Humanity Community. You might want to read it and consider the ways you don't "quite" fit into the mold "everyone else" follows... and talk about finding - or making - your own way!

Back when I as a lotus flower started to blossom (the beginning of my spiritual awakening), when I was 16, I was still focused outwardly.

I thought I wanted to develop my psychic powers, and see auras. I bought books on developing ESP and hung out in crystal shops and new-age bookstores.

What I really was seeking was community of other people awakening to higher consciousness and the non-material world. I didn't have the maturity or awareness to know that, back then.

I felt frustrated because I could only see about a two-inch aura around people, myself, trees. It was clear and luminous - yet I thought I was "supposed" to see color, with layers dancing and interplaying with others and the environment. Nope. As much as I strained, I did not perceive that.

As Life works, the answer came through seeking the right guidance.

At a new-age bookstore in Waukesha, Wisconsin, the psychic helping me offered the answer, "Maybe you can't see auras. Maybe you can feel them..."

That was it!!!

That pinpointed my perception and I really started feeling people.

Walking down the "mall" on campus, the wide sidewalk serving as the main area of foot traffic from "Old Main" to the campus bookstore and dining hall, I felt like I was running my hand through molasses as I passed people.

Even as I write this here, I pause to reflect on how visually oriented "the world" is, because I had the thought of how rich is the "unseen" world.

We have no frame of reference for the "un-felt" world. Because a majority of people perceive primarily through their eyes.

I wonder how much you've missed by trying to fit into the mold of how "everyone else" does things, instead of finding your way, the way that works for you, based on your unique gifts and nature...

This came to mind for me today because I had forgotten about that early experience in growing awareness, as these days I'm experiencing our interconnectedness.

Since around September or October 1999, a few months after I moved to Sedona, I've been working with a permanently Self-realized teacher.

He perceives energy, first, and then focuses his perception to see names and forms, such as "Dan" or "table". He lives in non-duality. He's awake. He knows there is no "us and them". All this nonsense happening in the world today that's completely misguided... it has no place in a mature, conscious person...

It's our duty, our responsibility, to remain centered within. To not give our power to anything we don't want. Because in giving it our attention, we're empowering it, making it stronger.

Well, that's at a less-conscious level. This is the time for us to turn within and expand our level of insight, awareness, perception, presence.

And to tune out all the toxicity - from both "sides" - out there in the world.
