Set Status to Private How often do you check social media during the day? If you're like most people, you've probably already logged in today just to see what's been going on, and maybe to post a status or two.
While it's fun to keep track of your friends this way, posting invites criticism. Welcome to the era of the Internet Troll. There's always going to be at least one person who, for whatever reason, likes to put down, poke at, or otherwise annoy people online.
Unfortunately, their harsh criticism has a way of getting under anyone's skin and can even hurt your feelings of self-worth if you take them too much to heart.
You can limit what you say on controversial topics by stating things as questions rather than positions. Even so, for your mental health a break from social media may be in order.
The simplest solution is to stay off of social media altogether. If this seems too hard, or is impractical, at the very least, you might need to change your settings. By only allowing your friends to see or respond to what you post, you control the conversation. Trolls not allowed.
Manage your social media time to support your mental health. Arguing on social media doesn't convince anyone and only invites attacks on your worth. Choose piece of mind and heart over being "right".
