In Step 1 you identified your positive beliefs that keep you stable. In Step 2 you identified some of the dysfuncional beliefs that keep you stuck or create unwanted reactions.
In Step 3 we want to look at where did you learn this belief? Is it really yours?
When you’ve worked out the root cause/belief in Step 2 , you should then try to identify where it came from.
Was it a bad pattern absorbed from a parent, or teacher? Did it come from a care giver, a coach, a role model? If you can work it out, it’s easier to see it as a false belief. Also, be aware of how the false belief makes you feel. Remember, your thoughts determine how you feel and if you can work on changing your thoughts, you can begin changing the belief behind it.
