I've Got A Secret...

I was kicked out of ballet classes

Head Over Feels, the first book in my steamy rugby romance series, is available in ebook and paperback and the second book, Stalling in Love is also available in ebook and paperback too. These are available in the UK and throughout the world and on Kindle Unlimited.

I've been celebrating by watching the Rugby World Cup. It's showcased the precision, speed and power of the players who've inspired my series. We've got the bronze final this Friday and then the New Zealand and South Africa final on Saturday. It's going to be amazing!

But in this newsletter, I promised to explain the dedication in Stalling in Love.

"To the women in my family, you taught me to dance and to never give up on my dreams."

When I was seven years old, I was kicked out of ballet classes. I know what you're thinking, I caused trouble, started a coup or maybe kicked a teacher. Sadly nothing that exciting. Something you may not know about me is that I was born very small and I still am. I struggled to keep up with the other children my age. I couldn't skip and run as fast as them and it took me time to pick up routines. So they kicked me out.

Guess what I did?

My mum spoke to my auntie, who used to teach dance and she taught me privately instead. I went on to pass my grade 1 ballet and tap with distinction. I still have the ballet medal. This medal and the support of the women in my family proved that sometimes people tell you what you can't do. But if you put your mind and heart into something then you can achieve!

I didn't carry on the lessons, but I still own a dancefloor, so much so that in my favourite club the DJ invited me to his birthday party! I come from a family of dancers, including my mum's great-grandma who used to dance for King Edward VII when he was a playboy prince and allegedly she had a secret baby with him. That history has inspired the bodyguard romance that I'm releasing next year. But my sweet romance comes out first. I'll share more about that in future newsletters.

Reviews of Stalling in Love

Dessert Flirt Repeat by Sarah Smith
I love Sarah Smith and all her books and this steamy read didn’t disappoint. In fact, it brought me pure joy while also leaving me hot under the collar. So much so that I read Desert Flirt Repeat in one sitting. The main characters (and others) were brilliant, and believable, had their own voice and were excellently written creations. The plot was exceptional. Gage was jumping off the page and I’ve never wanted ice cream more. These are the best spicy scenes Sarah has ever written.

Basically, if you’re not reading this book then you’re living your life wrong because it is brilliant and I feel lucky to have read it.

Play Your Part by Kathryn Kincaid

I adored this book. I nearly cancelled my evening plans just so I could finish it. The more I got into it, the more I couldn't stop. I was hooked on the love between the ice hockey star and the feisty FMC. I’d not read a hockey romance before but since Kathryn’s fantastic debut, I’ve read more!

I was rooting for Kennedy and Alexei from the start. The characterisation in this novel was on point. The tropes were well executed with the skill of a seasoned writer. The steamy scenes were perfect and I can’t wait to see what more this author has in store. I will be following her journey carefully because her writing blows me away.

If you love ice hockey, fake dating, enemies to lovers and brilliant romances with steamy scenes then you need this book on your shelves! There’s so much heart in this book and life issues too. What more could you want from a sports romance?

A Spring Fling at Hotel Mayfair by Elizabeth Holland

I can’t begin to tell you how much love I have for this book. The romance made my heart burst. The character development had me hooked and from the moment the characters met I pinned all my hopes on their future together. I was hooked on the range of characters too, each fighting their own struggles but doing it in a realistic way. And the cakes! I’ve never wanted to eat cake more.

I can’t wait to read more of this author’s books and I’ve already downloaded more in giddy excitement. If you want something that incorporates a fantastic narrative, brilliantly written scenes and locations and a love for the ages then this book is for you.
