The teenager pictured above joined Mustard Seed Secondary School after her father died and the staff heard about her dire situation. Her mother is jobless and struggles to provide the basics – school fees were out of the question. Her teacher reported that friends had loaned her shoes and bedsheets. While boarding, she received three good meals a day.
She wrote: I was homeless, suffering, no parents, no comfort, no education – a miserable Ugandan. But when RPU came into my life, I got a home, education, medical care, and food. I don't know how to thank you, but may the almighty God grant you whatever you ask.
Now that schools have been closed due to Ebola, she is hungry a lot. The Christmas Food will make a big difference to her and her mother and to so many other families with equally sad stories. The gifts bring so much joy and relief! What a difference you can make with a $15 gift!
If you have already given, THANK YOU!! You are the best! |
