Only because I can speak to her telepathically did I discover Violet sense of humor.
Many years ago, as I was soaking in a tub in a bathroom located between two upstairs bedrooms, I heard Violet running up and back between the two bedrooms vocally calling out for me.
NEDDA: Violet, what are you doing?
VIOLET: Playing hide and seek?
NEDDA: With whom?
VIOLET: With you.
NEDDA: But you know where I am, don't you?
VIOLET: Yes, but you're sitting in water, and you know I don't like to get wet. So I'm pretending you're out here somewhere and I'm trying to find you.
On another occasion, Violet sat next to the tub staring at me.
VIOLET: Why are you sitting in water?
NEDDA: To get clean.
VIOLET: Why don't you lick yourself clean like I do?
NEDDA: My tongue isn't designed for that.
VIOLET: You'd make a terrible cat!

THE FUNNIEST THING THAT EVER HAPPENED.
|
|
Some years ago, a client asked her dog,
"What's the funniest thing that ever happened while living with our family?"
The dog's answer brought gales of laughter from the client and her daughter, who were both on the phone with me.
According to the dog, one Thanksgiving, a visiting dog got into a fight with one of the cats, who jumped on the kitchen table.
In the resulting melee, the turkey, already cooked and "resting" from the oven, was knocked to the floor, where the dogs and cats all jumped on it and started eating.
My client verified that this was a true story that she had completely forgotten about.
