Have you heard of Imam ibn al-Jazari?
He was a distinguished scholar of the Quran born in 1350. After completing his memorisation of the Quran at the early age of 13, he travelled to the cities of Makkah, Madinah, Cairo and Alexandria to gather gems of knowledge and consequently authored a number of monumental books.
One of his most famous works known as Al-Jazariyyah is a famous poem where he beautifully summarises the rules of Tajweed into concise and easy-to-learn stanzas.
Because of the works of these eminent scholars of the past and present, learning tajweed and the correct recitation of the Quran has never been easier. It’s truly a blessing from Allah that we no longer need to travel long distances just to learn and implement this magnificent science of the Quran.
