Assalaamualikum Friend,

Hope you had a lovely week. This week I wanted to write about several topics and one specific topic I wanted to focus on was Salatul Isthikara.

Many people think that when you are confused between Options A, B, or C, then you do Salatul Isthikara. That's not necessarily the case. Salatul Isthikara should be performed when you are already leaning towards a decision and need God's final guidance.

The keyword here is leaning. You have to do your background research, consult with experts, etc, and come up with a decision and then ask Allah SWT for his final guidance as he knows what's best for us. We might think that something might be good for us but in actuality it might not be, and Allah SWT knows best.

Read on to learn more about Salatul Isthikara and the common questions about it!

Sincerely,

The Quran Academy Team
Isthikara - Seeking the Best from Allah
The meaning of this word is to seek the good or seek that which is good. This implies that when you are starting any new task, whether it is big or small, you should seek guidance from Allah by offering Salatul Istikhara (that is the prayer for success) because Allah alone realizes what is best for us, and there might be good in what we see as bad, and terrible in what we see as great.
 The Purpose Of Life
Does the weight of shopping bags in your hand relieve you of your grief and sadness? Do you often wonder if there is more to your life than the mundane routine? Do you find yourself constantly drawn to the question as to what is your purpose of life?

A Walk In the Shoes of Umm Salamah (RA)
Who comes to your mind when some one talks about perseverance? Can you imagine heights of Sabr? Do you know of someone wise enough to give advice to the Prophet of Allah s.a.w.? Is that even possible? What if I told you I can tel you of one person with all these qualities together? & does that get even harder to digest when I tell you that that awsome personality is a woman? let us see who is it...
