Subject: The House of Qur'an🏡

Assalamualaykum Friend,

We hope you are doing well in both eeman and health.

A Muslim’s home is their personal fortress. It is the place where they feel very comfortable worshipping their Lord as they, please. No wary eyes asking you why you keep hitting your head on the floor while praying. Our homes are our comfort, and they should be the place where a lot of the Qur’an is recited.

During the lifetime of the Messenger of Allah (SAW), it is said that if one walked in the early hours before fajr, one would hear people reciting Qur’an in their houses. Such that, those early hours came to be known as the hours of the reciters.

Abu Musa said, “The Prophet (ﷺ) said, “I recognize the voice of the group of Al- Ashariyun, when they recite the Qur’an when they enter their homes at night, and I recognize their houses by (listening) to their voices when they are reciting the Qur’an at night although I have not seen their houses when they came to them during the day time…” (Bukhari)

Our home should be a house of the Qur’an, but this doesn’t come by default or by accident. To establish a Qur’an presence in our homes, we need to cultivate deliberate habits that will lead us there, in sha’a Allah.

Top Picks For The Day

Istighfar (or seeking forgiveness), is a gift for us as Muslims. It is our way of returning to our Lord whenever we step out of the limits that He has set for us. This is why it is highly encouraged that whenever you know that you have committed a sin, you should seek forgiveness.

When it comes to our faith as Muslims, the whole idea of being a Muslim largely depends on our love for Allah (ta’ala). Our love for His words (the Qur’an), His Messengers, and everything that Islam preaches is a way of knowing how much we love Allah (ta’ala).

When we hear the story of Prophet Ibraheem (AS), it reminds us of Hajj, of old age parenting, of his wife running between the mountains of Safa’ and Marwa. But beyond that, his story is also an exemplary example of demonstrating ‘tawakkul’ (reliance) in Allah (ta’ala).

Every Muslim needs to be on the journey of constantly seeking to purify their hearts. To rid the heart of negative influences, and distractions, and fill it with all that is pleasing to Allah (ta’ala) so that we can successfully fulfil our purpose in life.

Blessed to serve you on your Qur'an journey,
