Subject: [Surah Maryam – 3] Learning to Supplicate with Zakariyyah (AS)

Assalaamualikum Friend,

Hope your week has been great so far!

As a continuation of our Surah Maryam Series, I wanted to send you our 3rd post which highlights a special dua by Prophet Zakarriya (AS).

Prophet Zakariyyah (AS) had reached old age but he had no children. He prayed to Allah SWT to grant him an offspring. There were no visible means for his desire to come to life, however, Allah SWT in his infinite mercy accepted his supplication and gave him the tidings of a righteous son.

On another note, I attended Yasmin Mogahed's talk in Malaysia a few days back and she highlighted something profound. She mentioned how in our lives, we all have this needy friend who is always seeking our attention and we can easily get annoyed by him/her. However, in the case of Allah SWT, HE loves it when we are super needy to him and HE can't wait to answer our prayers! SubhanAllah - how awesome is that? May we approach Allah SWT in the most needy way possible. After all, HE loves us more than we'll ever comprehend :)

With that being said, I'd like for you to make sincere dua today and everyday to Allah SWT and don't ever feel afraid to ask HIM regardless of how many sins you are committing/committed.
