Assalaamualikum Friend,

Have you ever gone through a similar phase when your connection with the Quran dwindles and weakens? Do you wish to rekindle this bond and re-plug into the Quran? Below are some tips to help you!

1: Purify your heart:

The heart is the pillar of our worship; it is the receiving end of the Quran. Our sins and good deeds have a direct effect on the heart; the former leave it with rust and spots, while the latter leave it pure and alive. When the diseases of sin occupy the heart, there is no place left for the words of Allah. Uthman bin Affan (ra) is reported to have said: “If our hearts were pure, they will never have enough from reciting Allah’s Speech (the Quran).”

2: Find yourself company:

One of the essentials of connecting with the Quran and benefitting from it is to stay in the company of the people of Quran. These are the special people of Allah who spend their days and night reciting, reflecting and acting upon the Quran. Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said about them, “Allah has His own people among mankind.” The companions asked: “O Messenger of Allah, who are they?”  He replied: “The people of the Qur’an. They are the people of Allah and are closest to Him.”
