Assalaamualikum Friend,

Hope you are taking advantage of these blessed days of Muharram Insha'Allah!

For this week, I decided to focus on the Importance of the Last Sermon of our Beloved Prophet Muhammad SAW in addition to the The Evils of Backbiting in Islam.

Do you know what the Prophet's last sermon was all about? What lessons can we derive from them and put to use in our lives today?

Also, did you know that Backbiting is a serious sin in Islam. A sin that, unfortunately, many Muslims have come to normalize in their day to day interactions. We tell other people the wrongdoings of another out of mindless chatter, and we share people’s personal matters in our gatherings. How can we prevent ourselves from falling into this sin?

I really hope you like the topics!

Five Lessons from the Last Sermon of Prophet Muhammad SAW
In the year 10 A.H, our beloved Prophet Muhammad ﷺ undertook his farewell pilgrimage to Mecca – this was by far one of the most significant events in history. On the ninth day of Dhull Hijjah, standing on the plains of Arafat, in front of one of the largest gatherings of Muslims at that time, our Prophet ﷺdelivered his farewell sermon – a sermon that was filled with lessons, treasures and commandments to be followed for thousands of generations to come, until the Day of Judgment.

The Evils of Backbiting in Islam (and how to stop it)
Many people may not be aware that they are falling into the sin of backbiting, because to them, they may just be innocently sharing an information that they heard, or telling someone about another person’s wrongdoings that may or may not have affected them personally.
