Did you know that one of the best times to worship is during the middle of the night? When the day’s work is done and everyone is asleep and you are unplugged from all the activities of the day, the middle of the night becomes a time to forget all about this world and seek nearness to Allah (ta’ala).

During the lifetime of Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ), he was known to stand for many nights in prayer. Sometimes, he would pray so much that his feet would get swollen. The Prophet loved Qiyam ul-layl and many of the sahabahs followed in his footsteps with their love for standing up in prayer in the middle of the night.

At that time of the night, the majority of humans are asleep, even most of the members of your household. This is a time when your chances of being interrupted by anyone or any device is limited. You’re less likely to get called by your boss at midnight than you are during the day. Even your favorite cable channels will only play reruns and old episodes of your favorite TV shows at midnight.
