Subject: ☄️ Friend, It Hit Me Like a Free Falling Meteor, I'm late but here's the Nov Dr. Rick VIP Newsletter

VIP Newsletter | November 2021 | Vol 2 Issue 11

From the desk of Dr. Rick...

It came headed at me like free fall meteor, five days in ICU and feeling like I had been run over by a bus who backed up to make she they got more. Yep, that nasty little Covid virus decided to get me. The good side is that I was proactive and didn't miss around with it, got to the ER for the cocktail, and am now back on the run again. I attribute a large part of the fairly fast success to the holistic practices I try to follow. Let's hope this does it, and it's out of many people's lives. It's a nasty flu system for sure.

We are heading into the holiday season here, and I am excited to announce a couple of things that you will want to take note of, so look over the entire newsletter this month. Plus, as always, a couple of great articles.

Be thankful, and share your positive energy with the Universe.

10 Ways to Keep Your Energy Level Up All Day

As we approach the colder winter climates, it's natural to feel sluggish and low on energy. Along with the flues, it's essential to keep at optimal levels of high energy. Here are ten tips. Feeling exhausted and continuously struggling to get through your day can lead to lower quality work, unsatisfying relationships, and poor physical and mental health. You can easily adjust your energy levels to live a more fulfilling and happier life by changing a few things. Implement the following ten ways to keep your energy levels up all day.

1.    Only Consume Natural Sugars – Processed sugars from soft drinks or packaged foods lead to poor moods and sedentary behaviors. Whole fruits, vegetables, or nuts and seeds are a better alternative as they provide other nutrients that work together to process throughout the body differently.

2.    Exercise in The Morning Exercise is a great energy booster as it increases your feel-good hormones and decreases cortisol levels that lead to stress. It also boosts your metabolism throughout the day.

3.    Eat Your Vegetables – Vegetables are high in nutrients that are important for energy levels. Often fatigue is due to an improper diet and can easily be fixed without supplements by adding vegetables. Experts recommend two to two and a half cups of vegetables each day.

4.    Drinking Plenty of Water – A common symptom of dehydration is fatigue, and this is because your body is shutting down and trying to cope with less hydration. Make sure to drink enough water for your weight and avoid substituting other beverages. Your body only recognizes water as proper hydration.

"People who fling themselves at life live more."

5.    Avoid Caffeine – While caffeine may provide an energy boost to get you going, it won’t provide energy all day long. If you want to keep your energy levels up, avoid coffee or energy drinks. Eventually, your body will adjust and learn to live without it and be better for it too, and the dependency only keeps you down.

6.    Get Sunlight Daily – Lack of Vitamin D is responsible for many symptoms of fatigue. Most cannot absorb Vitamin D properly without adequate sunlight, and it is essential to expose yourself to at least fifteen minutes of daylight a day to reap benefits.

7.    Consume Protein – Protein is essential to providing fuel throughout your body. Proteins are low on the glycemic index, making them a great energy source and healthy to boot.

8.    Get the Right Amount of Sleep – Do whatever you can to get at least seven to 9 hours of sleep each night. Your body requires proper amounts of sleep to rebuild and refresh. Lack of sleep can lead to a downward spiral, so take it seriously. Your organs repair themselves as you sleep, so you need it.

9.    Don’t Rush Your Daily Tasks – Ease into your day if you can or take the time to. The more time you give yourself to adjust as you switch activities throughout the day, the better to avoid the stress that can ultimately weigh you down.

10.    Get Moving – If you have a sedentary job, find ways to take a break or do your job while moving, even if it is just moving your legs or arms while you read an email. Experts say the more sedentary you are, the more likely you are to feel lethargic, and this is because you are not pumping blood or supplying enough oxygen to your organs.

These are only ten out of many ways to increase your energy to get through your days more manageable. Always speak with your doctor before you try something new or if you are experiencing chronic fatigue that wasn’t there before. You know your body the best, so trust your instincts.

Why You Need to Regularly Assess Your Skills

Anyone who wants to improve and prosper in their personal or professional lives should make the time to assess their skills continually. Often employers will have a yearly skills assessment test to ensure their employees are learning and growing within the company. Because skills benefit their company as a whole if you improve or learn new skills.

Whether it's more sales or a unique vision on how to sell the company's products, the ultimate reason for providing skills assessments is to benefit something positively.

The employee will also benefit, and it is something you should be doing beyond the need of someone else to provide it to you. For example, if you're an employee, don't wait for the employer to provide these needed actions.

·         Improve your quality and speed – Productivity is a crucial attribute of successful people, and to do this, you must improve your quality and do so in less time. After all, getting more done isn't good enough if you do not do it well.

·         As a way to self-reflect – Self-reflection is vital for a successful career, and it provides time to look into yourself and see where you can improve positively.

"Your skill can be either an asset or a liability."

Improve your weaknesses by outsourcing or learning more and lead with your strengths because it’s the fastest way to success since you are already good at that.

Set SMART Goals and Write Them Down

You can not accomplish a goal if you don’t understand that you can do it. SMART goal setting ensures that anything you want to do is not only specific, measurable, attainable, realistic, and timely but that you have a road map to achieving the goal. The process of creating these types of goals helps you set up a schedule of actions to take.

Visualize Your Goals as If They’re Already Met

Once you’ve set your goals, you can make a vision board to help you visualize the target as if it’s already met. You can see that new house you want, or that new business you’re building, at its finest in your imagination. Since you’ve created realistic goals, doing this part will give you that inspiration and passion for driving you to finish.

Set Up Achievable Steps Toward Reaching Your Goals

The goal-setting process will end up with a final deliverable that you can get done by working your way backward to today. Start with the deadline and add in the things you need to do each day to get to that deadline on time.

For example, if you wanted to write a 100,000 word Young Adult Novel, you’ll write down every single step required to finalize it from the outline to the publishing company so that you have step-by-step actions that you can put into play each day.

Implement Your Plan

You can do all the above, but if you don’t check your calendar and schedule and do the plans you’ve set in motion to do today, you won’t achieve your goals. This is a crucial element in the law of attraction called to action. Without action, your results aren’t repeatable or realistic.

Repeat

This is a plan that is something you can do for every single goal you have. Check your progress periodically and adjust as you go so that you know you’re truly achieving what you set out to do.

As you can see, the truth about the law of attraction is that anyone can do it if they set up goals that work for them and follow the steps. It’s not magic. It’s just about figuring out what you can do realistically to get to the result you desire and then do it again and again.

Why People Fail So Badly at Taking Care of Themselves

Even when you know how important self-care is to your wellbeing, it isn’t always easy to incorporate it into your daily routine. Did you know many people fail when it comes to taking care of themselves?

Here, we’ll look at why people generally fail regarding self-care and the main things holding them back.

It is often perceived as selfish.

One of the main reasons people fail to take care of themselves is because they feel it is selfish. It could be that you feel guilty when you take time to focus on yourself. Or, you may worry what other people think or that you are a terrible parent for not focusing solely on your children’s needs.

It is a total myth that self-care is selfish. It can help you to be a better parent, friend, spouse, and relative. The more you take care of yourself, the easier you’ll find it to take care of others. You’ll also show your children the importance of self-care. Teaching them to take care of their own needs is a crucial life skill to help them become happier adults.

It requires effort

There is no getting away from the fact that self-care takes some level of effort initially. When you aren’t used to making self-care a priority, you’re going to need to make quite a few changes to your routine.

Coming up with a self-care plan can feel like a chore, making it easy to put it off. However, there are ways to reduce the effort. For example, focusing on one thing you want to improve at a time can help. Perhaps you’d like to start working out more? Scheduling time to exercise as soon as you wake up, for example, can be a great start. Or, if you’re looking to drink more water, focus on that goal first.

If you break down your self-care tasks, it makes them much more accessible, reducing a lot of the effort involved.

Different approaches work for other people.

Every one of us is different, which means we enjoy and dislike other things. When you initially look at examples of self-care, you’ll find a lot of them relate to things like reading a book or taking a hot bubble bath. These types of activities aren’t for everyone, so they might feel self-care isn’t for them.

Self-care isn’t just bubble baths, yoga, and meditation; it is anything that relaxes and takes care of you. So, if you find going for a run is a more effective way of feeling good, that would be classed as a self-care task.

If you find one self-care approach isn’t working, try something else. Self-care should be personal to your own needs.

These are the most common reasons people fail to take good care of themselves. It can be difficult overcoming the initial barriers to self-care. However, once you fully understand what and how important it is, you’ll find it much easier to stick to a self-care routine.
