AUDIENCES ARE LOVING CAMBRIDGE FILM FESTIVAL’S NEW PAY WHAT YOU CAN AFFORD FILM SEASON.

Over recent months the Cambridge Film Festival has been presenting a series of monthly screenings where they are piloting an innovative Pay What You Can Afford ticket scheme.
Entitled “A Film I Love…” the season sees a different special guest each month introducing a film they love and explaining why it means so much to them,
At the first event in March Poet Hollie McNish presented the award winning comedy Bhaji on the Beach, while April brought Maths Teacher and University Challenge star Bobby Seagull back to Cambridge to talk about why The Man Who Knew Infinity was his “A Film I Love…”
Later this month Classic FM’s breakfast show presenter Tim Lihoreau will introduce the hilarious cult classic WITHNAIL AND I, and Owen Baker from the Film Festival says that both the season, and the Pay What You Can Afford pilot are going very well…
“We’re thrilled with how the season is being received, even after just two events we are seeing large audiences and people are responding incredibly well to the pay what you can afford scheme. Everybody seems to understand that we really want as wide an audience as possible to be able to attend these events, and that removing the barrier of cost opens up great films to a large section of the community who might otherwise be excluded.” he continues “We have taken a risk with Pay What You Can Afford, all the tickets are available on a sliding scale from £0 to £12, and people pay what they can afford based on their circumstances, so it’s wonderful to see such strong attendance and people really supporting the scheme.”
