Touching, tightly plotted dark comedy THE SECRET INGREDIENT
This is already creating quite a buzz at the festival.

Boundary-pushing ROOBHA
A unique romantic tale that deals with the complexities of gender identity. Roobha, a trans-woman, struggles to find her place after being ostracized by her family. Her chance encounter with a family man, Anthony, leads to a beautiful romance. But their blissful relationship soon comes crashing down for reasons not their own. Roobha is a beautiful film that confronts the transgender stigma and biases that exist within the Tamil community. Although revered in ancient times as incarnates of the Mohini, transgender members of the community now often find themselves ridiculed and stigmatized.

"A beautiful love story"

Psychological, paranormal horror IS THAT YOU?
The first psychological horror film to be made in Cuba, Rudy Riverón Sánchez’s feature debut, follows 13-yearold Lili. She and her mother are trapped in a meagre, suffocating existence by her domineering father, Eduardo. His sudden absence should represent a new freedom for them, but Lili is distraught, and we come to discover just how strong the influence of this monstrous man is over his family. When Lili carries out a spiritual ritual to help bring him back, she uncovers a disturbing truth about her father’s disappearance.

"An original and contemplative approach to the horror genre, IS THAT YOU? certainly won’t disappoint". Take One

Classic musical romp GENTLEMEN PREFER BLONDES
Lorelei Lee and Dorothy Shaw are two halves of a dynamic song-and-dance duo. They are also best friends despite their contrasting attitudes to men and money. But is Lorelei really just a ‘blonde man-trap’ and ‘mercenary nitwit’ or is her gold-digging approach sheer common sense? Shot in glorious Technicolor, Gentlemen Prefer Blondes abounds in fabulous fashion, sizzling one-liners and sensational musical numbers (‘Diamonds are a Girl’s Best Friend’). A five-carat comedy classic which never loses its sparkle.

This screening will be introduced by Harriet Kelsall, one of the most respected bespoke designers and business trailblazers working in the UK jewellery industry today. Harriet will introduce the audience to the beautiful jewellery in the film while referencing blood diamonds and ethics in the jewellery industry.

"An unusually perfect marriage of star, scenario, dialogue, director, and music."
