They make difficult decisions and take risks, and also accept accountability for any outcome. It is about the actions, behaviors and decisions that individuals make.

A true leader leads by example, not by authority.

True leaders inspire others through their actions and exemplify the qualities they want to see in others.  They make a positive impact through their actions, showing initiative, taking responsibility, inspiring others and working towards goals.

Anyone can hold a position of authority but it takes a certain kind of person to be a leader.
