Subject: Riding for Kids Cancer
You might just have thought I had gone missing in action. Too bad. I have not. I have been preparing.
Every year I take on a cycling challenge for Kids Cancer. October is the month. This year I am completing my own circle of Australia and will cycle from Rockhampton to Gold Coast in Queensland Australia. Distance is around 850 kms and there will be over 5,000 metres of climbing. It is going the hot and hilly and windy. My training has been a bit short which means I have to train into the ride. That will be fine for day one and then it will hurt when the hills kick in.
This is not an ordinary bike ride. I will be carrying gear for cooking and camping - around 40 kgs of gear excluding food and water but including the bike. I will be zig-zagging the Great Australia Divide a few times. I know those hills will hurt.
My charity does research for Kids Cancer. I like to think we have a better chance of understanding cancer if we study how it affects children. After all, they have had less chance to be touched by the toxins that surround us. Australia is a leading centre of research excellence. Stuff learned here will be shared worldwide.
Every small amount helps. I would love it if you could reach deep and make a donation here

Some of you may not be comfortable with supporting an Australian or a Cancer charity. Hit reply and let me know what you do support and I will add your favourite charity to my list (as long as it can take donations online).
Last point - I will share my method that has seen me raise over $17,000 for 8 campaigns to those who donate. Send me your email receipts.
Take good care and thanks for your attention
Mark
