Most major markets continue to trend lower. The Nasdaq market hit a new 6-month low this past week as interest rate increase fears continue. We believe that fund rotation from high priced high growth large cap into late-stage cyclicals and more defensive plays will continue for the near future.
On the microcap front we were happy to see one of our watch list and Cheapies with a Chance list stocks, Vigil Health VGL.V, receive a take-out offer. We expect we will see more of this in the current environment where it's cheaper for companies to buy than it is to build. A number of others on our list continue to move counter to the overall markets. IFA.T, NPK.T and GEO.T once again stand out as all three stocks saw solid increases in price this week. We continue to believe high quality; fundamentally sound microcaps are offering good buying opportunities for long term investors.

iFabric (TSX: IFA) Price - $3.25 Market Cap - $96M We've been bullish on IFA.T for some while now and even mentioned numerous times that we felt it was a good tax-loss buying candidate. Well, this past week's stock price action have us believing we may finally be proven right. The stock moved on news that the EPA will approve the company's bacteria/virus kill claims for their intelligent fabric, "Specifically, representatives of the EPA have committed to provide approval of public health claims for PROTX2 treated fabrics within the first quarter of calendar 2022." We believe this could be a major catalyst for the company. The stock closed up XX% on the week and is now up XX% from its December lows.

Life science companies continue to dominate the list of new 52-week lows on the Nasdaq market. Shares of IPA have been fairing slightly better than a number of other similar life science companies as the Life Science ETF, XBI hits new 52-week lows. We await Omicron test data as well as more pre-IND study data on the company's polytope Covid-19 therapeutics which should be imminent.
