Weekly Update - January 10th to 14th
Another volatile week. Nasdaq dropped by 2.5% on Thursday alone but the for the week the index ended mostly flat. The Dow had a rougher end to the week but ended down less than 1%. Inflation and possible interest rate hikes continue to dominate the headlines. Thursday's Producer Price Index (PPI) had the largest annual rise on record in data going back to 2010. This report followed the December Consumer Price Index (CPI) showing the largest jump in inflation since 1982. 

We continue to see sector rotation out of high growth tech and biotech and into the more defensive energy, communications and consumer staples sectors.  
Most microcaps we follow seem to be holding up fairly well and a few had a decent week, NPK.T and GEO.T leading the pack with solid gains. We continue to believe that we are in a buyers market for quality microcaps and will continue to stay focused on companies that are well financed and/or nicely profitable and growing.

Geodrill Limited (TSX: GEO) Price - $2.36 Market Cap - $107M
Very positive news for Geodrill this week. A significant contract win which will help grow revenues over the next 2 years. Even with the recent uptick in share price we believe the stock offers very good value and we will continue to be buyers on dips. 

ImmunoPrecise Antibodies (TSX.V: IPA) Price - $8.00 Market Cap - $154M
Shares in IPA seem to be bucking the life science sector downtrend and have been a bit stronger this past week. As per the CEO comments from the last quarterly conference call the latter half of January should be active on the news release front as we await more testing data.
