» Buffet Do's and Don'ts

paczki_day.jpgWelcome to
Sawa's Old Warsaw

For those of you who have visited Sawa's Old Warsaw in recently weeks may have noticed a new poster on the window in the Main Entrance for all to read and take note. The poster is part of the Policy Guidelines known as the Buffet Do's and Don'ts.

We even added a new section to our website that has all of the same great information. These new guidelines will ensure a more pleasurable time when you visit the All-You-Care-to-Eat Polish~American Smorgasbord.

» 10 Years of Supporting Jazz

St. Patrick's DayCongratulations to the Brookfield Jazz Society!!!

On Thursday, March 26th the Brookfield Jazz Society celebrated 10 years of Supporting Jazz in Brookfield and the surrounding area with Mark Colby (Jazz Saxophone) plus the Jim Cooper Trio (Jazz Vibraphonist). The event was attended by over 40 people, many of whom were at the very first meeting at Village Hall on March 24th, 2005. There was a lot of great jazz, awesome raffle prizes donated by Palmer Place and We're Nuts Popcorn both in La Grange and Network XXIII and some great stories shared by the original members from over the years.

To see a few photos from that event you can check out the article online from the Suburban Life (click here) or learn more about the BJS by visiting their website and sign-up for the newsletter for weekly updates:

» Speak Out Online Comments

Take a moment to read some of the comments from our Readers who used the Speak Out Form online:
(They also received a discount
off of their next meal)

Sue Williams from Darien:
[Price Comparison] Your prices are extremely fair-almost too good to be true.
[Favorite Entree] Roast Beef - Tender & delicious
[Service Quality] The service is excellent. The Servers are friendly and efficient
[Change Suggest] Monitor (if possible) all the people that go up with the same plate all the time-maybe take their plates away faster because they're clueless to know the rules of eating at a smorgasbord.
[Other Comments] I hope you can put signs up about the no kids at the buffet rule. Even when supervised, they still stick their hands into the food. The parents DON'T CARE. I am sorry due to parents not controlling their kids that you have had to resort to this, but it would be wonderful to see some of those parents get charged for food they're kids stuck their fingers in. I am SO glad you are going to have this policy enforced.

Debbie Modzelewski from Bridgeview:
[Price Comparison] The prices are more than fair for what you get
[Least Favorite] Everything is good, but if I had to pick a least favorite it would be the Ham because sometimes it gets cold
[Additional Comments] Your soups are the best I've had anywhere
[Quality Service] We had an excellent server - Angelina

Dorothy Voros from Westchester:
[Favorite Entree] Broasted Cod
[Least Favorite] Fried Shrimp
[Quality Service] Good - Aga
[Additional Comments] We brought a friend on Friday at 7:10 p.m., looking forward to enjoying your cold shrimp, etc. You were out of cold shrimp, and the fried shrimp was too heavily coated unlike in the padt. We had to wait for the potato Pierogies and the cod. Our friend said he would never return to your restaurant and we were embarrassed. Perhaps a sign on the door indicating "Out of Shrimp" would help patrons decide if they still wanted to dine in your establishment on that day.
