We're back with another episode for our podcast mini-series called "From Trials and Tribulations to Thriving as a Therapist in Private Practice ".
We had the opportunity to interview Mary Mannhardt who shared her emotional and inspirational story. Mary was an incredibly talented athlete with a very promising future ahead of her as she prepared to leave for college at Georgetown University.
She suffered from anorexia and couldn't get the help she so desperately needed. Mary quickly spiraled into a mental health and physical health crisis when she almost lost her life to a suicide attempt that left her paralyzed from the waist down.
Mary shares her journey toward recovery and how her faith and passion for helping others has kept her going. She was able to turn her pain into her purpose by helping others and reducing the stigma of mental health. Mary's story is one of hope, faith, and perseverance. We are so inspired from her journey and think you will be as well.
