Friend,

Although our StartupNation Superheroes are from around the world our homes and headquarters are here in South Florida.

We too know the devastation caused by natural disastrous particularly hurricanes.

We gratefully escaped the impact of Hurricane Dorian. Earlier in the week Dorian was predicted to hit us straight on, luckily it turned and rode the coast of South Florida not impacting us.

I have to say it felt very odd knowing there was a hurricane "driving by" right up the coast in the water. It felt like the Loch Ness Monster was lurking in the waters.

Just to offer some perspective we are only 90 miles from the Bahamas.

My heart is heavy as I watch the devastation that has occurred in the Bahamas.

I feel both grateful that we escaped and saddened about the destruction that has occurred in the wake of Dorian.

The beautiful thing and my heart feels happy knowing that I have systems and processes in place around my finances, using Profit First for our business and using the "Jar System" for my personal finances that allows me to give consistently, putting away at least 5% of my earnings every paycheck.

I can't tell you how much joy and freedom (I didn't always feel this way) I have knowing there is always this pot of money to give to causes I care deeply about. I feel better knowing that I can assist in some way, some how.
