Breaking: NLRB Releases Cemex Decision, Creating New Era of Union Organizing

The National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) released its opinion on the Cemex case today, effectively creating a major pro-union shift that will empower organized labor and make union organizing easier. 


As signaled by General Counsel Jennifer Abruzzo in a 2022 brief, the Cemex case alters what employers can say about their direct relationship with employees, bans mandatory employee meetings about unions, and revives the Joy Silk doctrine. It will transform union recognition procedures substantially.
