Subject: Bloomberg BNA resources gone - what now?

Bloomberg BNA cancelled three publications.  What now?
Bloomberg BNA recently announced that it will no longer publish several of its books related to union/labor issues:

• Source Book on Collective Bargaining
• Union membership and earnings data book
• Directory of U.S. Labor Organizations

Several of our friends have asked where they can find this information. The good news: we have most of what BNA provided, and much more!

Here’s where you can find what you’re looking for:

Source Book on Collective Bargaining

Our Contracts library is not just one big multi-page table of data. Instead, it’s a searchable, filterable database. Use multiple search terms to find exactly what you’re looking for.
Union Membership and Earnings Data Book

If all you need is some basic data, www.unionstats.com has union membership, coverage, and density estimates compiled from the monthly household Current Population Survey (CPS) using BLS methods.

Directory of U.S. Labor Organizations

Under our Union Report library, you can search by any union and/or local. For the International, you’ll receive:
  • Lists of up to five years (or no more than 500 records) of petitions, elections, and strikes
  • Three-year list of contracts involving the union
  • One-year list (or no more than 500 records) of ULP charges filed against the union
  • One-year list (or no more than 500 records) of ULP charges filed against companies
  • International membership, assets, receipts, and list of personnel and salaries from LM report
For a local, here’s what you’ll get:
  • Five-years list of union local petitions, elections, ULP charges, and strikes
  • Local union membership, assets, receipts, and list of personnel and salaries from LM report
And there’s more if you need it!

Petitions, elections, ULPs, union scoreboard, interactive maps, charts and graphs containing decades of data. You choose the timeframe, the geographic parameters, the union and/or local, and at the push of a button you’ve got detailed data and summarized overviews.

Our apologies to Bloomberg, but you’ll never miss those old books!
