Queen's Birthday Weekend
It is Queen Elizabeth's Birthday, well actually she has already had it on 21 April, She was 93! We celebrate it in June however, because of a tradition started by King George II in 1748. He was born in November but wanted to celebrate when the weather in the UK was better, so started to celebrate it in June. It is not widely celebrated, in fact in the UK it is not a public holiday.

Australian Improv Festival

The Australian Improv Festival is a world-class improv comedy and theatre event produced by Laugh-Masters Academy coming to the Seymour Centre 7-9 June 2019.
This will be the first time Sydney has hosted an international event of this kind featuring all-star comedy performers and teachers from all across Australia and around the globe.
Have a laugh as trained performers spontaneously create characters, dialogue, and entire shows based on your suggestions. Every show is a world premiere, never to be seen or repeated again.
And if you feel inspired, they have a bunch of public workshops to choose from too.

Two facts about Queen Elizabeth that you might not know.
1. She was the first female of the Royal Family to join the Armed Services as a full-time active member. It was during this time that she learnt how to drive.
2. She is woken up every morning at 9 am by a bagpiper who plays outside her window. I wonder how she turns them off!!
