Hey Friend,
Hope your day is amazing!
About a year or so ago, a few people on our Think And Grow Rich morning mastermind started talking about an app that helps people invest very small amounts of money via spare change.
For example, if you buy something in the store that costs $5.63, you can have the app round up the change and invest it automatically into the accounts they have set up.
These accounts are a mix of stocks & bonds.
The app is very well known and they do TV commercial ads with celebrities (my friend Rob told me).
At the time, I thought it would be a great way to help people get started with saving, but got distracted and ignored it for quite a while.
In the mean time, my business partner Mike was using the app to stash some money aside for various projects and told me it was working well for him.
A couple weeks ago, my friend & team member Robin told me that this app was offering $500 if you referred 3 people to the app.
I asked her how much it was and that's when she told me that the app is $3 bucks a month (no contract) and you and your referrals have to make a $5 deposit to fund your initial investment.
"Let me get this straight" I said to Robin, "If I refer just 3 people who each pony up $8 they will add $500 into my investment account?"
"Yes" she said.
"Can I withdraw the money?" I asked.
"Yes" she said.
If you know me at all Friend, you know I've been preaching saving and investing like a nut job my entire career online.
Saving money is law of success #3, and it seems to be a requirement to building a life of real freedom.
Investing in the stock market has never been my thing as we've done all of our investing in real estate and probably will continue to do so. (real estate is how I retired at 40).
But I said to myself, 'self, if this app can help people just get started, saving and investing... it will probably be a GREAT thing, especially for those who haven't formed the habit yet.'
And if you can help people with this, and they can share this app with a few peeps, and get a free BOOST to the process, that will probably also, be a great thing.
So, I made a post on Facebook about it, and ended up referring around 8 paying customers during that promo.
There were a few skeptics - and I don't blame them - because the offer sounded way too good to be true.
Only reason I had faith in it is because of the brand and longevity of the company. (they've been doing what they do for 9 years now)
Anyway, I referred my customers and was slightly surprised to see the $500 deposited into my account, just like they said it would be.
Let me show you a picture...
