Subject: my wife was in a terrible accident...

Hey Friend,

So something crazy happened yesterday.

Yesterday morning, this was a beautiful suburban.

The above picture is what it looks like now after yesterday's accident.

Thankfully, and somewhat miraculously, my wife is Corene is ok.  She has a few scratches on her hand from the broken glass but other than that, she walked away from this crash.

She had just dropped our 2 little guys off at her folks and was on her way to take Camden to practice and then go to Kayden’s games.

She was traveling at 65 MPH down the highway when a lady came flying at her from the side. Not sure if the lady ran a stop sign or just totally mis-judged the timing on her crossing. Regardless, she rammed into the drivers side of Corene’s suburban and sent her into a roll.

She rolled at least twice, missed 2 telephone poles and landed wheels up. Her phone was thrown from the vehicle (and destroyed) along with most of the rest of the contents inside the car.

She crawled out of the window and a lady who heard the crash came over, called the police and let Corene use her phone so she could call me.

I’m still not sure how to process all of this, other than to be so very thankful that both Corene and the driver of the other car weren’t seriously injured or worse.

Life can change so fast, in the blink of an eye and so often we let little things bug us or annoy us.

Things like this seem to bring what’s really important into sharp focus.

Life is a gift, and should be treasured. Loved ones should be loved and appreciated. Time is limited for us all, and the more we remember that, and hold onto the gift of each moment, the better.

Aside from the intense and very present gratitude I feel for the safety of my wife, my friend, and the mother of my children...

There are other seeds to be found in this surprise crash setback.

This morning one of my best friends who created our all in one business page sent me an audio message.

He was expressing love and concern and as he talked, I felt some tears well up in my eyes.

Yes, I'm still a bit emotional from yesterday, but the tears from today were more from the love I felt from someone I respect and admire, taking the time to show me sincere care and concern.

I thanked him sincerely for the message and he sent me some beautiful lines, some of which I feel inspired to pass along to you Friend.

Here's what he wrote...

'I really woke up already contemplating life and death in a different way today based on some stuff that's been going on in my family over the last couple of years really.

Then a person reached out to me yesterday from my list and let me know that they had terminal cancer.

Seeing those images really made me just have a moment with God.

And He's so good.

He brought to light that while death is here all the time, we have the power to choose life.

Not just on a grand scale, but in the little and seemingly minute moments... we in every second have the power to choose life.

And you have chosen life so often that life is beaming all across the world because of you.

God continues to say that when we choose life, our children will have life too.

Something that is so evident in your family, and I was just a little overwhelmed knowing even though death isn't always a choice...

Life is.'

Wow. Those words almost leave me breathless.

Hope they touch you, like they touched me today.

I wish you all the best today Friend, and every day.

Sincerely,
