Morning Friend!
I wrote a little post on social media yesterday that people seemed to like and wanted to pass along here in this email today.
I'm calling it The Philosopher's Code. One of my early mentor's taught me, "Your philosophy is the major determining factor, in how your life works out."
The man who said this was a very influential and successful multi millionaire from Idaho, and his words struck me.
Even though I didn't know what the word 'Philosophy' meant, I became determined to find out and start working on mine.
Anyway, here's the post...
The Philosopher's Code
A belief is what you think to be true, truth is what actually is. Beliefs can be in harmony with truth, many times, they’re not.
A philosopher (lover of wisdom) is born when the mind turns itself back upon itself.
Many people care more about proving the superiority and accuracy of their beliefs, and less about whether their beliefs are in harmony with truth.
The philosopher is willing to sacrifice false beliefs upon the alter of truth. (Difficult as it may be)
Truth is the ideal.
Being right or superior to someone else, not so much.
I once heard an acronym for ego.
E - Edging
G - God
O - Out
If God is out, who’s in charge?
You. If you edge God out, it’s as if you believe you are smarter than God, and don’t need any additional growth, transformation and change.
This is when your beliefs become your chains and you’re enslaved by invisible bonds you don’t even know are there.
Jesus said “the truth shall set you free.”
Perhaps this is a real key to freedom.
Pursue the truth and be willing to accept it, and live by it, as you discover it.
Accepting it, often means an old part of you must die.
The false part, the incorrect part, the perception (belief) of the world around you that was based on your desire to be right, rather than based on your desire to live and be led by what actually is.
Thanks for reading Friend, and hope you're day today is amazing!
Paul
