Grand Rising, Friend,
One theory about ancient ideas, that tend to persist is that they continue to stay with us, because of their validity or efficacy in our lives.
If an idea tends to work for many people over time, It makes sense that the idea would outlast kingdoms countries, thrones, and even entire civilizations, doesn’t it?
The Bible is one example of pages that have proven to be more durable than crumbling stone in the sands of the historic hourglass.
The Bible states that in the image of God, was mankind created.
Perhaps this is to say that humans were made to be a “likeness” or a “representation” of divinity on earth, and that each human soul possesses attributes and contains ‘essence’ that reflect or resemble those of the almighty and unlimited creative force from which we, and all we know of existence, sprang.
The word “image” as contained in the Old Testament, is derived from the Hebrew word “salam” which means “to cut” or “to shape.”
One reasonable interpretation here is that each individual human consciousness or ‘soul’ is a spark, thrown from the master fire.
A piece of clay pulled from the clay mound of providence.
In this view, we are less ‘a reflection’ and more ‘an infinite connection’ with God.
A part of the whole.
Divine power flowing in and through us, because it is us.
I wonder how different our lives and experiences can be as we move forward today, holding the potential truth of this idea within our hearts.
And after all, isn’t it better to embrace and unleash every shred of power and resource available to us to do good in the world than it is to not see and feel the full potential of our unlimited life force?
All the best,
Paul
