Hey Friend!
I've recently had multiple friends get scammed or almost scammed on social media so when my friend & subscriber Bill, asked me "How do you spot fake accounts?'
I figured it might be worth sharing these 5 steps in the hopes they can help you avoid social media frauds & scams.
This is no joke and is happening more and more to people I know & love.
For example:
Last week a good friend told me he almost got scammed for a boatload of money on X.
He had initiated the money transfer and thankfully, his bank stopped it for a fraud check.
In the interim, he realized he was being scammed and didn't lose the money.
Multiple times, I've seemingly been followed by Elon Musk... Of course, upon further investigation I realized these were all imposter X accounts.
I've recently noticed on Facebook, an uptik in imposter accounts, using my name, photos and videos.
Same thing goes for my business partner.
We've also seen fraudsters using our company brand to gain trust so they can target our community members with fraud.
Obviously, having your time or money stolen from you does not help you build freedom.
That's why I wanted to make todays video and answer the following questions...
- What are common aspects of a fake profile on social media?
- How do you verify social media accounts are real?
- How do I know if the person I am talking to online is real?
The information in this video could literally save some people thousands or even tens of thousands of dollars, and a bunch of un-necessary heartache.
Thanks for reading Friend, and please be careful out there.
Paul
