Happy Thursday Friend!
So I read someting out of a VERY old book that struck me as interesting and I wanted to pass it along because I believe it has a LOT to do with success.
The book is Leviticus, and yes, it's from the Bible.
Most of that book is about some very strange sacrificial practices some of those people used to do way back in the day. I have no idea why people from all kinds of cultures, from all over the world did stuff like that - but that's beside the point.
The line I read that stood out - reminded me of something a great mentor said...
Here's the line from the Bible... (and please don't get hung up on the old religious terms, try to look beyond them with me and see the wisdom)
"And if a soul sin and commit any of these things which are forbidden to be done by the commandments of the Lord; though he wist (which means knew) it not, yet is he guilty, and shall bear his iniquity."
So basically it's saying that if you violate a law because you didn't know it - you'll still be required to suffer the consequences.
To put it another way, action and consequence are written into the code of reality, irrespective of our conscious awareness.
If we are unaware that laziness doesn't bear good fruit, it doesn't matter! We will still pay the price of being lazy.
The line from my old mentor was this...
“Ignorance is not bliss. What you don’t know will hurt you.”
This is why, making a decision to do our best to find out, how stuff works - as fast as we can, can put us in a position to be able to use the laws, to our favor, rather than to our detriment.
This is one of the reasons I've been an evangilist over the last 2 decades for personal development.
Reading
Listening to audios
Learning from mentors
Taking action as fast as possible to test the efficacy of the things you're learning...
These are some of the BEST things you can do to find out.
My challenge for you today Friend, is to please remember to invest time, daily into your personal development.
I know life gets busy, and there are so many distractions that sometimes reading and self growth can get pushed to the side...
If that's happened to you, it's ok - it happens to the best of us.
Now can be a time to re-commit, if you find yourself in that category.
Thanks for reading and I hope you make it an AMAZING day.
Paul
