Hello Friend,
The nightmare word for commercial investors is Key Money. Even dictionaries cannot exactly describe the word key money but here is one attempt: Key-money in Thailand can usually be explained as part payment of the total lease price upfront to the landlord for a lower monthly rental during the term of the lease, and also as non-taxable income for the lessor. There is no fixed rule for key money or how key money is calculated. But in todays hotel rental offer we can skip this word and it is offered without key money, just plain rental with deposit and paying upfront some months. Do keep in mind the hotel rent is 500k THB per month, for most of us an incredible high amount but for real hoteliers it is a low price for what they get. Agents with potential renters are welcome and get good commissions. |
