Key money is one of several forms of payment made up by a landlord and if you call it pre-payment, goodwill or extra security deposit, nobody likes this!!! Lots of this key money set ups are fake, not logic and covers up overpricing in rental. In Thailand there is actually no serious explanation for what it is but sure is that BUSINESS PEOPLE DO NOT LIKE KEY MONEY!!!
