Dear Friends,

   As we are going through these incredibly challenging times, I wish for each of you, your families and your staff, good health and some sense of stability in the upcoming weeks. I have heard from quite a few of you during the past few days. Some will be keeping more or less regular office hours. Some will be shutting down. Some be using remote connections back to their offices. All anticipate a significant slowdown in their client interactions. This is uncharted territory for us all.

 

    But this slower pace also provides the opportunity to take care of the administrative things we never had enough time to do. In that regard, I want to let you know that I am available to speak with anyone in the mood which regard to issues involving Pathagoras.

 

    This may be the perfect time to get your Pathagoras forms in order. By ‘Pathagoras forms,’ I mean every form in your office. Make your simple forms more automated. Make the untouched forms at least a little automated. There is not a single document that you produce that cannot be made better by adding some automation. Even if all you have do is add three variables, e.g., [Client Name], [Client Address], [Client City, ST  ZIP] you have improved performance in your office.

    If you are not using DropDown Lists or QuickLinks, give me 15 minutes and I’ll show how you and your staff can save many times that time investment using just these simple, powerful tools. If you have a project in mind and want some tips on how best to approach it, call me. Shoot me over a document that should be working, but is not. I’ll fix it and tell you what the hang-up was (and how to debug it on your own).

    I will not charge for these discussions and to be quite honest, look forward to the ‘company.' If you call and I am available, I’ll pick up. Otherwise, ask Juliette, or whoever answers, to set a specific time for a call back. Don’t forget to give us your time zone. (Hawaii, Alaska and overseas customers . . .not to worry. I still wake up early and go to bed late. We’ll find a convenient time.)
