Pathagoras -- Excel™ (We improved, again, the connectivity)

| Introducing another tool for Pathagoras-Excel connectivity.
While the majority of our users are strictly 'Word'-smiths (and Pathagoras was specially written for that category of user). we continue to expand our 'relationship' with other popular programs, especially Excel™and Adobe Acrobat™.
What we introduce today is strictly an Excel productivity tool. In a nutshell, this feature allows you to put all the information you need to build a document (contracts, pleadings, estate planning documents, etc.) using a properly (but simply) structured Excel spreadsheet. Read on . . . .

| With
this new feature, simply insert the necessary values into a two column
spreadsheet.
At the top, insert the document name(s) that you want to assemble.
Just beneath the documents, insert in Column A, the !groupnames! and variable
names needed to apply the logic and personal values. In Column B, inert the appropriate values.
Save the spreadsheet out under the client's name. Recall as needed for editing.
In
Word, recall the spreadsheet using the new Excel 'recall' tools Pathagoras will read
and process the data in those two columns, and a perfect document is the
result.
(If
you know how to name cells, you can used the names cells, and the data
they contain, to drive the process. Even more power, and even more
elegance.)
The more you know about Excel, the quicker you can make the process
assigning values. If you know how to use vlookup and hlookup (and
many do), simply point and click to assign values. If you know how to
create cell equivalencies, go for it.
It's actually fairly easy to learn how to set all of this up, but keep
in mind that it is totally optional. And absolutely nothing in your Word document
needs to change to take advantage of this feature.

| | Other important upgrades/improvements:
- Printouts of all variables, !groupnames! and aliases. (We found that many problems in document processing was the result of simple spelling errors. So this new tool helps to identify those errors. And existing 'mass search and replace' tool help to quickly fix them., Still plain text, and still plain easy. This routine is under the newly expanded Structure Checker module.
- A smarter 'Intelligent A': Now
works against numbers (not just words). So "[**a] [Age] year old child"
will return "a 3 year old child" or "an 18 year old child", depending
upon the value provided for [age].
- •The Pathagoras Features drop down list has been reorganized. Better logic, fewer clicks and the ability to add more Alt-G calls to your Quick Access Toolbar.
- •Send to Outlook.
With this new button, Pathagoras can call up an Outlook session. Tell
Pathagoras to place the content of the underlying document in the body
of an Outlook email or as an attachment to that email. The button is at
the foot of Pathagoras Features (bottom half) | Authoring/Editing Tools
(Please note -- regardless of your choice, the nature of the Outlook
call does not actually invoke 'sending'. Even if you press the Send
button, you must also press the Refresh sequence.)
- Rearranged the Pathagoras Features dropdown to consolidate some commands and to make others easier to find and remember.
