It has been months since you have heard from me regarding
Pathagoras. It’s not because we have been doing nothing. Rather, it’s because we have
been doing so much.
We have been adding and refining new and useful features that we hope you will like. I would dare say that there is not one person who will not benefit from at least one of the new features.
Testing those features to make sure they work upon release has been extensive and productive. They now all working well and today we announce the release of the next iteration of Pathagoras, version 2020.5.
It’s not possible to list all the new or improved features here, but
they are summarized at
this link.
We don’t want to leave you completely in the dark. Here are some of
our ‘big’ changes:
- significant speed improvements in large and
heavily ‘nested’ documents;
- significant speed improvements in documents that contain multiple appearances of the same variable;
- more robust logic (more powerful ‘If/then’
equations), including If(any), If(all) and If(not) arguments;
- the ability to <<*Set*>> multiple values with a single set-up line;
- the ability to augment your Interview setups with 'comments' and 'breakpoints', and to separate If/Then sections of your Interviews, making everything easier to create, more flexible and more readable;
- easier to create ‘fancy’ intake forms. (These are ones you can send to your clients (or they can download from your site) for completion and then return. When returned, you can easily 'scrape' the completed form into an Instant Database record.);
- more powerful interactivity
with Excel (Pathagoras can read just about anything you want to throw at it in Excel);
- new Dropdown List tools;
- and more. We simply have made Pathagoras faster and more user friendly than ever.
And 'more' also means more of us. Want to schedule a
GoToMeeting session to bring your staff up to date? we are as near as your phone. If you are current in your
Support Agreement (or decide to get current) these sessions are yours for the
asking.
Cool. So how do I get 2020.5?
If you are a demo user within your 90 day trial, we want you to have this version for the remainder of your trial. Just return to the
site and download another 90 free trial. (This doesn't actually change the clock, but does allow you to use 2020.5 for the remainder of your trial. Don't worry, you won't lose anything with the update.)
If you are the owner a 'full' version of Pathagoras, check the status of your Annual Support Agreement from this link:
www.pathagoras.com/CheckStatus.php. If current, you can immediately download the latest version. If not, you can (optionally) renew the Agreement and then download the latest version. (You will need your Serial Number. If you do not have it, write me and I can provide it to you.)
These are significant changes, but don't worry. All tools that you know and currently use are still intact. (Unlike some other programs, we always 'grandfather' in tools that our earliest users have grown to love and depend upon.) But when you are ready to explore more, and to take advantage of some new stuff, it's there waiting for you.
