ARTS WORKFORCE INITIATIVE (AWI)
Intent to Apply Application Extension
Deadline: Tuesday, February 28

The CT Office of the Arts is currently accepting submissions of an Intent to Apply from non-profit arts organizations seeking to be an AWI Host Organization.

AWI Host Organizations provide apprentices with hands-on and engaging learning experiences in arts administration, visual arts, arts presenting/curating, media arts, performing arts, visual arts, arts education and literary arts.

Selected host organizations will be granted $3,750 to be used to pay an hourly rate of $15. Individuals selected to be AWI apprentices work 25 hours a week for 10 weeks for the selected host organization. AWI participants receive payment from the host organization where their apprenticeship will take place.
The apprenticeship period is June - August 2023.

Your organization is a good fit for the AWI program IF:
  • Its mission and values align with READI.
  • It has experience managing apprentices.
  • It has the capacity to manage apprentices.
  • It has an open role for an apprentice to perform Project-Based work that is descriptive, engaging and goes beyond general tasks.
  • It has a positive work environment, both in-person and virtually, for an individual to thrive.
  • Its leadership has bandwidth to support an apprentice. Kindly note, we receive apprenticeship applications with different experience levels.
Selected organizations are required to attend an in-person, one-day creative workforce event the week of May 15th.

FREE INTRO TO DATA WORKSHOP
Understanding data is becoming rapidly and increasingly important in the work we do. What data will best tell you the impact you are having on your targeted community? How do you analyze the data you collect?  How can funders better understand what data tells them most about your successes?

On Thursday, March 2nd, from 9:30 am to noon, we invite you to attend our free, virtual, Introduction to Data workshop in partnership with The Connecticut Data Collaborative. In this interactive workshop, you will learn how to become a critical creator and user of data, and improve your own data work. This is an introductory workshop, suitable for individuals of all skill levels. It will teach you valuable skills that can be applied immediately. Take advantage of this unique opportunity; learn more and register here !

Organized through the Cultural Alliance's Data Task Force, this workshop is open to all members.
CENTER FOR NONPROFITS
SEEKS BUSINESS CHALLENGES
Deadline: March 3, 2023
Sacred Heart University's Center for Nonprofits (CNP) is currently seeking nonprofits who might have a business challenge that can be addressed by a group of MBA students as fulfillment of their Capstone requirement.

The CNP has completed over 250 projects for 175 nonprofits. This is a chance for your organization to have MBA students complete projects such as: feasibility studies, market studies, creation of marketing plans, strategic planning, and many others. The best part for our partner nonprofits is that there is no charge for this service....it is free. Your commitment is devoting some time to meeting with students and providing them with preliminary information about your organization and project.  If you project is chosen, it will be done sometime between late March 2023 and June 12, 2023.

If you have questions, please contact CNP'S Director, Bill Hass. Otherwise, if interested, complete the proposal here, and send it to him by Friday, March 3, 2023.
