The programme will get the little ones mentally prepared for the new
challenges they will face in primary school. They will be introduced to

PSLE Treasure Chest Creative Campus has designed a 2-day programme for students who wish to reach for 95 marks in the English Paper 2 Exam. Students will be coached on the techniques required to tackle each section and given ample practice to hone their skills. With enough training, it is possible to score full marks in the Grammar Cloze, Grammar MCQ and S&T components. Exposure to frequently asked questions will allow students to derive the best answers for the Vocabulary Cloze and Comprehension Cloze sections.

| | | Connectors are words that are used to join sentences, phrases or words together. They are often useful for making one's writing more concise. The simplest of all connectors - "and" - puts together two clauses that are simultaneously true.
Sherry and Sally are at the beach. The festival programme includes a magic show and a fireworks display.
Connectors often also indicate a relationship between two clauses in a sentence. For instance, "but" is used when there is a contradiction between the clauses.
Jerry was a talented pianist, but he made several mistakes during the exam.
In other cases, connectors are used to indicate that there are two possible options.
Would you like chocolate or vanilla ice-cream? You can either stay in the library or visit the Science Centre with Peter.
Connectors can also be used to present conditions that will allow for something else to occur.
You can go out to play as soon as you finish your homework.
Alternatively, connectors may indicate that a certain condition is irrelevant to the final result.

One connector that has been the subject of some debate is "irregardless". Many do not consider it a "real word". Here is a video explaining how "irregardless" should be used.

| | | | Experts have found that bilingualism can improve one's general language-learning ability. In light of this, parents are often keen to ensure their children grow up to be effectively bilingual. This is no mean feat.
Exposure to the language is essential, but the nature of this exposure can affect its effectiveness. Conversations in person appear to be more effective than time spent staring at a screen. Studies have also found that listening to native speakers is more effective than listening to those who are not fully comfortable with the language. Experts also recommend "rich and complex language exposure". This means that exposure tends to be more effective when it includes music, stories and other elements of culture.
Psychologist Giglina Melzi concludes that bilingualism is worthwhile despite the hard work it entails. Dr Melzi also advises parents not to be too concerned about whether their children are equally proficient in both languages. She believes that children will benefit even if they do not turn out to be perfectly balanced bilinguals.
