Never a truer word spoken.
The first casualty in the war between Israel and Hamas was indeed truth.
The Zionist Jews - not the regular citizens of Israel - had their border security troops stand down on the day of the first attack, used this created event to retaliate, and since then have reentlesslly bonbed and killed as many as 40 thousand men women and children.
Since then neighboring countries and factions such as the Houthis in Yemen, have been on the side of the Palestinians, the Houthi in particular using drones and missiles to attack commercial shipping in the Red Sea.
The US govt, hundreds of whom are dual US/Israeli citizens, immediately came out on Israel's side and sent warships to the Red Sea, from which they retaliated by firing missiles and s ending in planes to attack Houthi missile sites.
Whatever success they had we'll never hear about, and if the Pentagon and the US govt had their way, we would never have heard about the USS Eisenhower being all but blown out of the water when the Houthis launched multiple drones and UAVs (Unmanned Aerial Vehicles) to attack the Eisenhower.
These would confuse the ship's radar, have them firing their own defensive missiles, no doubt with some success - and while they're doing that, the Houthis add a hypersonic missile, or two or three - to the outgoing, and the ship's defenders cannot possibly stop them.
Why?
Because. according to Popular Mchanics, "Hypersonic speed is generally accepted to be Mach 5, or 3,836.35 mph in conditions of 20 degrees Celsius at sea level ... however .... test pilot William J. Knight (no relation) set the record for fastest crewed flight in 1967 when he piloted the North American X-15 to Mach 6.72 (4,520 mph) at an altitude of 102,100 feet. In 2004, the uncrewed NASA X-43A set a speed record at Mach 9.6, or 7,310 mph at an altitude of about 110,000 feet.
Also, a video of the attack is now available on my blog at this link.
