It shows a spike in the resonance on July 29.
I thought about using that in a newsletter, but filed it instead, thinking I should wait for some additional confirmation. For instance, I subscribe to spaceweather.com and get daily reports on what the sun is up to in the way of throwing out Coronal Mass Ejections that can affect Earth.
I have been doing that for years because of reports that a major blast from the sun can be expected to shut down power grids and electronic equipment worldwide, at some point. The ramifications of that alone are worth some serious thought - and real efforts to be prepared for power outages for some length of time.
CMEs do influence the Earth's magnetic field. They account for the aurora borealis, and also affect what's known as the Schumann Resonance. It's a frequency that normally vibrates at 7.83 hertz, and Schumann established that every living thing, including humans, is affected by it.
On Tuesday August 2 Spaceweather.com advised that a CME was going to hit our planet on Wednesday/Thursday.
Today, Judith and I both felt as bad as we had on the 29th.
Going back to the website which monitors the Schumann resonance 24/7 and updates it in real time, I snagged the image below. |
