| | | | Greetings.
I have a brother in New Zealand who is an elder in his church.
While we differ in our chosen paths in life, he is unwavering in his fundamental Christian beliefs.
This morning he sent me a link to a YouTube video, saying "Now here is a smart guy who tells it straight up."
I watched most of it on his channel which is titled Blog and Mablog, which of course is a play on the biblical references to Gog and Magog.
Who were they - Gog and Magog - and what is their relevance to today's global circumstances, as seen from the Christian or biblical viewpoint?
| | |
I decided to check it out, and here's one result from an Internet search. "In both Ezekiel's prophecies and John's description of the end of sin, Gog and Magog are symbols of the forces of Satan opposed to God and His people. They picture a battle and war between good and evil, sin and righteousness, God and Satan. And that is the main point in regards to Gog and Magog based on what the Bible says." | | However, another legitimate question comes to mind. Why are there statues of these two in London's Guildhall?
A little further digging finds this explanation. It's about a parade involving the Lord Mayor of London, and a legend going way back about two giants who were defeated and became guardians of the territory that is now London.
(In case you haven't heard it before, the "City of London" has long been a seperate entity from greater London, just as the Vatican and Washington DC are in legal terms seperate from their surroundings. And they are recognized, by those fighting evil, to be strongholds of eveil-doers for decades - and hundreds of years). | | | | " At the head of the parade are two wicker giants, representing Gog and Magog, supposed guardians of the City of London.
They are mentioned in three passages in scripture: Genesis 10:2, a reference to Magog in the table of nations. Ezekiel chapters 38 and 39, an end times prophecy describing God as being against Gog, chief prince of the land of Magog. Revelation 20:7-9 – “When the thousand years are over, Satan will be released from his prison and will go out to deceive the nations in the four corners of the earth – Gog and Magog – and to gather them for battle. In number they are like the sand on the seashore. They marched across the breadth of the earth and surrounded the camp of God’s people, the city he loves. But fire came down from heaven and devoured them.” Source:- http://www.prayerforlondon.com/gog-and-magog/
| | And In Melbourne, Australia | | | | The Aussie text differs somewhat from the Guildhall explanation, saying Gog and Magog are mentioned in both the Bible and the Quran, but that the legend also has pagan roots.

Maybe so, however I also see some significance in the fact that each statue has a different headdress.
One has a bird (a dove? on its head, and is that a phoenix on the shield?) while the other has a serpent. Can you think of any better symbols for good and evil, war and victory? | | | | In my opinion, whether we be Christian, agnostic, or even atheist, we most certainly are all living in a world where there is a real battle going on between good and evil. I also believe that the prayers of Christians, the hopes of agnostics, and the thoughts of atheists are all heard, and that we are indeed living through what Christians call "the end times."
But whose end is it?
It is end times for those who worship Satan, and Satan himself, whoever, or whatever, or wherever he might be.
Frankly, I certainly see it as Satanic, or evil-inspired, to have FJBiden and his press secretary focus on the "rights" of transgender individuals while saying little to nothing about the children and adults who were gunned down by a tranny at the Nashville Christian School.
It's not just about Gog and Magog either. Another biblical reference often comes to mind. The one about Sodom and Gomorrah....but don't get me started on that. The below image says more than enough. | | | | | | Now, it being Easter, you may wish to watch this preacher who, as my brother says, "tells it straight up." | | | Book One In The Michael Knight "Misfit" Series - Now Available Worldwide in Paperback and Kindle versions. | | Now available worldwide on Amazon.
