As-Salaam Alaikum (Peace be unto you)!

Minister Abdul-Hakeem Muhammad and others have achieved historic success in their claim against Lambeth Council and the Metropolitan Police.

On 5th August 2017, at the (AIDA) Africa International Day of Action event in Kennington Park, supported by the police, Lambeth Council imposed restrictions on the Nation of Islam, preventing the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan and his European Regional Representative Abdul-Hakeem Muhammad and other members of the NOI from speaking to us, THE BLACK COMMUNITY about Reparations for slavery and the suffering we still endure.

AIDA commemorates the Emancipation of our ancestors who suffered the gravest Human Rights Abuse: that was the transatlantic slave trade! The transatlantic enslavement of Afrikans has been identified by the United Nations (DDPA) as the greatest crime ever committed against humanity.

This action was and is, a clear breach of our rights to freedom of speech.

Since 2017 the Nation of Islam, represented by Tuckers Solicitors, have been fighting for justice in the High Court. The trial was scheduled to start on Monday 10th May 2021. Lambeth Council and the police will have spent almost £1.5m of public money defending this claim.

This is a historic moment. It is a VICTORY not just for the Nation of Islam, not just for community political activist Rashid Nix and Abu Akil, Co-Chair of Global Afrikan Congress UK, who supported us, but for the whole Black community all over the country.
It defends our right to freedom of speech and self-determinism.

Both Lambeth Council and the police, faced with their actions being exposed in court have admitted they acted unlawfully and agreed to pay compensation to the 33 people, led by The European Regional Minister Abdul-Hakeem Muhammad.
