What parallels can be drawn between colonialism, apartheid and societal segregation faced by Black people and the ongoing occupation in Palestine?
Can the death, destruction and treatment of Palestinians in Gaza, witnessed worldwide, become a template and go-to method of governments in Europe against those who desire to live with self-determination?
Since the beginning of our sojourn in the West, Black people have been fighting for self-determination in the UK and Europe, in the US and the Caribbean - hence the historical and current connections between Palestinians and Black organisations/leaders in the West. Palestinians have taken influence from a spectrum of sources from within the Black Diaspora, including the Nation of Islam to the Black Panthers and beyond - even from Hip-Hop culture.
