Allnurses.com is a Silver Sponsor of this year’s conference. Stop by the allnurses exhibit booth and meet Mary, the Community Director, and Beth, the allnurses’ Ask Nurse Beth Career Advice Columnist (and #NNBA2015 Grand Prize Winner!). They will be glad to tell you more about the opportunities and resources available at allnurses to help your nursing career. See their ad below!
NNBA members are really great! I love going out to Facebook or wherever and however they are being social and sharing such fantastic information. This past week, Sean Dent posted the article 8 Writing Tips I Wished I Knew Before Blogging. It was so good that I wanted to include it in this issue of the newsletter. For a deep-dive into blogging, nurses need to sign up for Brittney Wilson, The Nerdy Nurse and Kati Kleber, The Fresh RN preconference. Always looking for Ways to Work Smarter, #8 and #14 are my favorites. I had cited Dr.Sonia Lyubomirsky’s research on happiness in my book a few years ago. And, since this is the final newsletter before our conference, I have included the Secrets of Networking Pros. Networking is an art and there are ways to become very skillful at networking which will reap many benefits to your career. We are the #1 Nurse Business Owner Network so be sure to share this newsletter and https://nnbanow.com/nnba-conference-2017/ with your friends and colleagues. I can tell from the phone calls, comments and posts how excited everyone is for next weekend at St. Pete’s Beach! |

| Many times our marketing can fail because we don’t understand the different media and using it to its greatest advantage. Remember that the advantage of newspapers is the news. The advantage of TV/Video is demonstration. The advantage of radio is intimacy. The advantage of magazines is reader involvement. The advantage of the internet is interactivity. The advantage of direct response is urgency. The advantage of telemarketing is customer rapport. Right message, right media, and right audience, keep these advantages in mind when working with different media!

I wrote my first blog post two summers ago. And I wish I could erase it from the internet. Reading it is like looking at my middle school Facebook pictures -- it’s almost too cringe-inducing. But after completing several content marketing internships and taking classes like business writing, electronic journalism, and creative writing, I’ve learned how to write for an audience. Blogging is almost second nature to me now. Read More |

You've no doubt heard it a million times: Career advancement is as much about who you know as what you know - and that's exactly why being a powerful networker is so important. But mastering this crucial skill requires more than just schmoozing over cheese platters and exchanging business cards. There's actually an art to it.
“Since there are so many different platforms for people to market themselves these days, you have to find ways to cut through the white noise and get noticed,” says Ivan Misner, Ph.D., author of “Networking Like a Pro.”
