Strategic organizational and clinical changes in our healthcare delivery system are causing unprecedented opportunities for Nurse Entrepreneurship. It is an exciting time as 2016 rolls out and I look forward to seeing what new business models will appear. The NNBA is busy as well, adding more services and upgrading some areas of our technology. For the past 20 months we have delivered this newsletter with announcements, tips, articles, and career opportunities on the first and fifteenth of each month. Many of you have replied to me that you enjoy the articles or that a particular piece of information was just what you needed. And several nurses that responded to the career opportunities, have secured additional income and new roles. Our plan is to continue delivering the newsletter; however, I am going to change it up from time to time. For example, in this issue and then quarterly, we will publish our new NNBA members. Please join me in welcoming them to our National Nurses in Business Association's community.

| While words like sales, prospects and leads are foreign sounding to most nurses, shifting our mindset allows us to see how similar the more familiar words are like patient, census and community. Nurse entrepreneurs make the transition well and the article below by Brian Tracy helps sharpen our sales skills. How do you stand out in a crowd? You may want to see how to make your branding more impactful. Social media is marketing and marketing is all about building relationships. My favorite article this week is on building relationships on social media.

| Is cold-calling a thing of the past? And if it is, how else do you find new customers? Prospecting is often considered the top challenge when it comes to growing a business.
If you’re relying on cold-calling, it can be awkward and unproductive.
A new way of looking at cold-calling is not doing it at all. Instead, marketers are warm-calling. Research the prospect before you even pick up the phone so that you can really find a problem they have and offer a solution.
In addition to personalization, use these prospecting tips to help you succeed at acquiring more customers. Read More |

Entrepreneurship isn’t easy. Many business owners set out to build thriving enterprises. Working day and night, they try to earn enough business to keep them moving forward. But it’s not enough. Instead of growing, they remain stagnant. Or even worse, they decline. If you’re an entrepreneur, you may have found yourself in this situation. Let’s face it: You have competition. There are other companies that provide an offering similar to yours. Chances are, you’re not the only one who can offer the benefits you provide. In the world of entrepreneurship, success depends greatly on your ability to stand out from the crowd. Read More |

I remember saying that if I could ever figure out how a person could be in two places at once I’d retire a billionaire. And then, I figured it out.
Because being in two places or more simultaneously is exactly what social media allows us to appear to do. With a nearly endless supply of apps designed to cross-post anything we can enter into a digital device, you’d think the impossible had finally been achieved.
Certainly a lot of innovative people have ensured a comfortable retirement by making that illusion easy to create. But what is it costing entrepreneurs who fall prey to it? Read More |
