| | Dear Nurses,
It has been tremendously exciting since our conference. I’ve had multiple telephone conversations, meetings, and follow-ups with nurses from all over the country!. Every day nurse entrepreneurs are sharing how NNBA’s program content, and networking is unfolding in their lives. Nurses are creating brand new streams of income, obtaining new speaking engagements, getting offers from medical device companies, collaborating on new educational courses, and providing exciting virtual summits and video conferencing. All this has happened in just the past 30 days!
November is here and it is National Family Caregiver month. Having owned and operated a senior care company, as well as provided caregiving to family members, I have firsthand experience of how tough family caregiving can be. There are so many decisions that need to be made, however, it is some of the most rewarding work you’ll ever do. It’s an honor for me to share an article Carol Palmer, Joanne Hatchett, and Nancy Joyner wrote that is published in the American Nurses Associations’s Peer- Reviewed Journal. This article helps nurses in translating patient decisions into treatment orders. The Pearls of POLST. Nancy Joyner, MS, CNS-BC, APRN, ACHPN is a Palliative Care Clinical Nurse Specialist, Patient Advocate, and a long standing member of the NNBA.
Zig Ziglar used to say “It is your attitude, more than your aptitude that will determine your altitude.” Our first article of interest is Creating a Mindset That Will Help You Succeed. A good deal of today’s marketing is taking place through social media. Our second article, What is Social Media Marketing? is very helpful to establish definitions and remind us of a variety of platforms. And last, it won’t matter how good your numbers are if you let your health go bad. 10 Ways to Stay Healthy While Running Your Company offers user friendly, and practical advice.
Karen Apy knows about staying healthy and has an amazing story of going from a dire diagnosis to wellness. These are Karen’s comments from the conference. “Nurses Rock!!! Another fantastic conference (September 27th-29th) with the National Nurses in Business Association! "These nurse entrepreneurs are leaders paving pathways for a healthier future around the world. Nurse authors, educators, inventors, and pioneers in private practices shared their wisdom for others to learn how to fulfill their dreams and live life on their own terms. This annual conference changes lives every year!" I could not have said it better. Make sure you are part of our annual conference #NNBA2020 and place September 25-27 on your calendar now!

| Social media marketing is the use of social media platforms to connect with your audience to build your brand, increase sales, and drive website traffic. This involves publishing great content on your social media profiles, listening to and engaging your followers, analyzing your results, and running social media advertisements.
The major social media platforms (at the moment) are Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, Pinterest, YouTube, and Snapchat.
There are also a range of social media management tools that help businesses to get the most out of the social media platforms listed above. For example, Buffer is a platform of social media management tools, which can help you achieve success with your social media marketing.

| When you’re working to build a business, it’s easy to put your own needs aside so you can devote as much time and energy as possible to making your venture succeed. But neglecting your own well-being is just as bad as taking your eye off the numbers or forgetting to follow through with projects.
Even in the midst of running a hectic business, you have to take care of yourself. Though it might seem strange, self-care should be an important business goal. If you allow unhealthy habits to seep into your life, you’re probably also letting your productivity slip.
Along with the demands of your business, you need to make sure your health stays a priority. Follow these 10 important tips to keep yourself in tip-top shape. |
