| | Dear Nurses,
More nurses are saying no to the status quo in nursing. What is motivating more nurses towards entrepreneurship than remaining in the status quo of traditional settings? Multiple factors are in play; however, the overarching reasons nurses are looking to start their own businesses are that they desire more. Nurses want to have more autonomy, to be their own boss, set their own goals, and run their business as they see fit. Nurses want more purpose and have a vison of what they want to accomplish and lives they want to impact. Nurses want more flexibility to decide their own hours, what setting they work in and with who they choose to work. with. Nurses want more financial control to create a financial safety-net to provide for the longevity of their career. Nurses with an entrepreneurial spirit see opportunities and gather resources to turn that possibility into a reality.
The experience, knowledge and impact of the NNBA Nurses in Business is amazing as well as the support that is provided fellow nurse entrepreneurs and aspiring entrepreneurs. You will have the opportunity to make incredible and meaningful connections by networking with nurses that share your interests and passion. We have many nurses that are coaches in a variety of specialties. Two years ago, we created the NNBA Coach Resource Badge for those NNBA members that are coaches. This badge shows up next to the coaches’ picture in the directory where members can search to locate a coach. Recently, I had a conversation with a long-time member that was expanding their service line and they mentioned how great it was to search the coaching directory for a resource. As a reminder, the coaching resource application is listed in your dashboard.

| Years ago, when I placed my home in Newport Beach, California on the market, I hired a designer that was known for his ability to stage homes prior to their sale. Ben was very professional in taking his time walking around my house. He took notes in every room and asked when I could be gone for an entire day. So I picked a day I was working, and afterwards met friends for dinner. When I arrived home that evening, I thought I walked into someone else’s house! I was amazed how Ben had taken everything I owned and moved it into patterns, displays, and arrangements that made everything look brand new. I never realized my stuff could look so good.
Joining the NNBA and attending the annual conference can do this for your nursing career.

There are more than 70 million blogs published every single month and most get very little traffic and no social engagement.
But your blog posts can accomplish exactly what they’re intended to do — whether that’s build readership, grow your subscriber base, improve your market position, or increase conversions and sales.
You can leverage your content to be in control of your own destiny.

| For freelancers and entrepreneurs, building a personal brand has never been more important than it is today. Anyone with access to the internet and social media can build an audience, position themselves as an expert, and start attracting clients for their business. And that’s exactly what a lot of people are doing. A study by Upwork revealed that the freelance workforce is growing at a rate 3x faster than the overall workforce in the U.S. By 2027, freelancers are expected to make up the majority of the U.S. workforce.
While it’s great to see that so many people are embracing their entrepreneurial spirit, this also means that every self-employed freelancer, independent contractor, and entrepreneur will soon face more competition than they already do. The key to differentiating yourself from your competition is building a personal brand.
