I took a meeting this morning with a first time founder who meekly asked if I could explain the seed stage funding landscape - who exactly are these angels and their groups, how does a fund operate, where exactly does one meet investors? He'd heard the jargon but didn't quite understand it, and figured when he was ready to do more than work from home, it was time to go find other people's money.

Fundraising is a drag - time consuming, confusing and endless. There's no roadmap. The process is frustratingly opaque, even, frankly, to those of us on the other side of the conversation.
As the nation celebrates National Small Business Week from May 1 through 7 to recognize entrepreneurs and small-business owners, we’re marking the occasion with an events guide for you to participate virtually, watch live and join the conversation on Twitter.

Consider this: According to the U.S. Small Business Administration, more than half of Americans own or work for a small business. Perhaps more important, small businesses make up a significant chunk of job growth by creating approximately two out of every three new jobs in the country each year.
I have a ton of rich friends who've wanted me to write this for a long time.

Yesterday, I was chatting with future billionaire, Josh McAfee (Founder of McAfee Institute), who told me how to build a billion-dollar company. Like many of my wealthy comrades, he couldn't stop talking about the mindset of being a multi-millionaire.

Kenneth Cole, the famous fashion designer, told me that sticking with your gut is the key to building a sustainable business. Kevin O'Leary (the Shark Tank star) showed me the value of holding only profitable relationships.

Modupe Opapeju, BSN RN
Modupe Opapeju, BSN RN is the CEO & Founder of Rophem Nursing Education, a Florida limited liability company; a proven educational program that specializes in helping graduate nurses to pass the NCLEX examination with a passing rate above 96%. As the founder of Rophem Nursing Education, Modupe believes that every student should be given the opportunity to be successful. She believes that students want to be great achievers and each nursing student has individual strengths, weaknesses, and their own barriers to learning & success. She specializes in helping students to figure out what those barriers are and then provides the best assistance possible with personal attention given to each student.

Because of the passion for student’s success; Modupe designed the specialized program to help nursing students boost their knowledge and increase critical thinking abilities not only in class but on the NCLEX Exam and as professional nurses. When the program started, many of Modupe’s successful students are repeat test takers. Her NCLEX review program has contributed in raising the NCLEX pass rate at the College of Nursing where she serves as Adjunct Faculty teaching Fundamentals, Pharmacology, and Med-Surg Nursing.

Modupe’s passion for teaching started in 1991 when she taught Physics with the Lagos State Teaching Service Commission in Nigeria for 14 years. She later participated in the American Green Card Lottery, which brought her to the US where she is able to combine her teaching experience with nursing.

Modupe obtained her ADN & BSN from Saint Petersburg College. She has worked as a bedside nurse in Cardiac Telemetry, Women Surgical/Oncology, and many Nursing homes.
